How has India performed this year? This year, India is similar to last year in terms of overall share, which is one-third. But, the entire pie has grown since last year, which means India as a market has grown. We are 1 in the premium segment.

Would you look at tapping new price segment in India? We are not in the biggest segment of the market. We will not really allow ourselves to go after many segment opportunities because that dilutes the focus.

We should put our efforts into improving in a focused way. Are you trying to move up the price segment with the new OnePlus 6T? In terms of US pricing, it's higher. It's not that we are consciously trying to move up to a different positioning, it's about the new technology that has a higher cost to manufacture.

Our philosophy remains the same. First, figure out what the best product is, the best product is not one with most specs or features. It has to be a balance between design, and hardware and software. Do you want to go into the super premium segment which is the territory of Apple and Samsung? We have always said that we want to make flagship phones with a focus on user experience.

We don't really have super premium or premium as internal categories. Premium space in India is small. But, we are perfectly happy in this market. The economy is growing in India, so is the middle class. Consumers now want better products and have disposable income and they are more familiar with the certain category of products.

What steps OnePlus is taking to bolster market presence? The product is the foundation. We are taking steps in India to make the experience better for the local market. This office will help us work closely with partners, and bring us closer to the users. It will help in localization and innovation for the local market.

Secondly, the service is very important. We are rolling out our own service infrastructure. India was made OnePlus' global HQ this year. How has this helped?
